2 Hour Beach Horse Trail (Advanced Riders)

Jeffreys Bay

Activity Description

Experienced guides escort riders twice daily along the 13km circular route that takes about two hours to complete. The trail leads through beautiful fynbos coastal vegetation, towards the Gamtoos river with breathtaking views from the dunes and finally returning along a 6 km stretch of deserted beach where riders can have an exhilarating gallop on the sand.

The guides escort every group and assist riders in selecting horses just right for their respective capabilities. This outride is ideal for intermediate and advanced riders, though in quiet times, we also accommodate first timers and beginners. Experienced riders can choose not to go with a guide and have the freedom to explore the valley at their own pace.

RIDING EXPERIENCE
If You have different experience riders in the group – please make separate bookings for Beginner, Intermediate & Experienced Riders. Riders of different experience will have the same departure time but will have horses that suit their skill and group will be split into rider capabilities during the trail.

BEGINNER CLASS:
Ridden a horse only on trail rides. Do not know what a posting trot is about. This is you if, when the horse goes into a trot (second gear), you start hitting the saddle hard, have no way to control it and are hanging onto the saddle for dear life.
INTERMEDIATE CLASS:
Have been taught how to trot and canter and understand how to control a horse. Can ride without holding onto the saddle and are not pulling on your horse’s mouth.
ADVANCED CLASS:
Can jump fences, can handle a bucking rearing beast and turn it back into a trail pony.

Customer Reviews

It was the most amazing ride I ever did! The Galopp on the beach was just pure magic, you hardly find places where you can galop as long and as fast as you want to and nothing will ever get in your way! The guide took amazing videos and pictures of me even during the fastest sections. It was great - Sara

I loved every moment, it was very nice and everybody was friendly and helpfull - Nelmari

Loved every minute of the ride the horses are so well trained and the view was amazing. - Amy

How do I describe this amazing place? I think last Saturday was my 5th return. I brought my younger brother with that last rode a horse in 2009. I selected advanced as he was also keen for a challenge. The guide Resie was an absolute Godsend and spent so much time teaching my brother the ins and outs while my husband and I gallopped up and down on the hard sand on our super fast horses- Cheeky and Frank, I think. My brother managed to do a few canters and he is so excited to return, which I never expected. Thank you so so much Papiesfontein. We love you guys and will forever return when we are in the area. (We are from Cape Town). Keep doing your amazing work and caring after these beautiful gentle giants. I look forward to my next visit. For now I have videos to reminisce about. - Leonora

Super schoner Ausritt mit einem super schonen Galopp-Finale am Strand - Angela
