Schotia Private Game Reserve, next to the Addo Elephant Park

Activity Description

OUR SAFARI TOURS INCLUDE DRINKS, SNACKS/LUNCH, TRANSFER FROM PORT ELIZABETH HARBOUR AND THE CONSERVATION FEE.

Enjoy a safari tour in Schotia Private Game Reserve, bordering the eastern side of Addo Elephant National Park. Schotia offers the possibility of viewing Africa’s ‘Big 5’ animals (elephant, rhinoceros, lion, buffalo, and leopard) in their natural habitat, as well as giraffes, hippos and crocodiles. Schotia is a must-see destination in the Eastern Cape.

Join our qualified guides on a day safari and learn about the large variety of animals and the surrounding areas. Each drive is unique and unpredictable as the animals are constantly on the move. Our guides will, however, do their best to provide the best sightings possible.

Tours take place in one of our open safari vehicles and snacks and drinks are provided on every tour.

Customer Reviews

The excursion was amazing! The pick up service from the cruise ship and back was excellent. On the premises, in the open Safari Jeeps, we felt safe while at the same time had the most exciting adventure ever! Our personal guide Tim was very experienced and shared a lot of information about the animals and the plants in the game reserve. Apart from the leopard, we saw all of the Big Five. But the leopard is night active, so this was expectable. The animals were so close, and we experienced a lion's hunt on a pumba, very impressive! Apart from the big five, we saw a lot more animals: giraffes, pumbas, antilopes, gnus, crocodiles, hippos... We can only recommend this trip and would love go come back one day! A big Thank You to the amazing team for letting us have the best time of our life! - Kira

Super Organisation (Abholung, Transport, Durchfuhrung) Wir hatten viel Spass und haben viele Tiere sehen konnen. Ein gelungener und empfehlenswerter Ausflug. - Claudia

We thoroughly enjoyed our game drive with Marilyn whose knowledge was impressive with enthusiasm to match. We were late arriving due to a road accident so Marilyn added extra time on which was appreciated. I have to say this was one of our favourite excursions of our 3 week trip! Marilyn made sure you saw as much wildlife as possible and we especially loved the elephant encounter just before we finished at the watering hole. A very special day indeed! - Tracey

This was the BEST tour we have had from the several safaris we have done throughout a month long trip to South Africa. For starters, we were incredibly lucky to have had Marilyn as our guide/driver. She is the nicest lady ever! Also, our tour happened on Christmas Day when most places were actually closed or not operating. But parks like Schotia Safaris (Addo) were eager and willing to take us. I truly encourage people to support vendors in the Gqeberha or Port Elizabeth. We saw almost all big five in one place. It was superb! And Schotia is the real thing. Animals are roaming free and self sustainable. In fact, we used binoculars and Marilyn's wit to spot many of them as they "hide" and roam naturally. So we had the thrill of seeking them. Our tour included a snack meal with drink of our choice and refreshments. We stopped at a cool "hut" where they hold events inside the reserve. Side note; I had a delicious grilled sandwich and it was so delicious and simplest best treat ever. LOL. The drive in the open air terrain vehicle was a lot of fun too! I also want to highlight that we came on a cruise and decided to come separately from the big groups and were rewarded immensely with pictures of elephants, wildebeest, cheetahs, rhinos, crocs, many giraffes, wild boars with babies, and so many more! Only thing we missed were lions. AMAZING! We thank again our lady in charge, Marilyn. She made Xmas so special for us and we are not even religious in any way. It was and will remain in our memories as one of the best travel days. Thank you Schotia Reserve and Marilyn. - Maricarmen
