Experience Sandboarding or Sandsledding the famous Alexandria Dune Field – the largest and least degraded coastal dune sea in Africa. The fresh ocean air will embrace you as your board skips across the sand on your way down to the Sundays River –it’s one wild ride!
You’ll depart from the dock at Colchester, Addo, with a short boat cruise along the Sundays River to the soaring dunes. There’s time to take in the beauty of the river, birdlife and the coastal section of the Addo National Park before the fun really starts.
Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned sandboarder, our guides will have you boarding like a pro in no time! Excursions are available in two- or three- hour tours, which will give you enough time to get into your groove, master some new skills and cool off in the river.
We require a minimum of 2 people to join this activity in order for the tour to go ahead. If there are less than 2 people then the 1 guests will be charged an extra R150 for the tour to continue. Thank you so much for your wonderful service. - Moeketsi
I already reviewed this nice experience. I was there as a spectator. It was my sister and nephew from Poland (well versed in snowboarding) who decided to see the difference in sand boarding. The cruise, with marvelous views of the dunes and birds, was truly breezy particularly after a scorching heat earlier on. Thank you for shifting the time of this event for later in the afternoon when the temperature was more acceptable. The sandboarding was fun. Adam, the guide, was very pleasant, patient and accommodating. Sandboarding was easy for my sister and nephew but sliding straight into the water is not something that you practice while on snow. The water in the river was clean and warm. i must say the slide directly into the river was not faint-hearted. It looked much more dangerous than it actually was. So, in a nutshell, this sand boarding was a good comparison experience. I can not say whether sand or snow-boarding is a winner. But when my quests come to South Africa again they would like to repeat the experience. - Marta

We loved this 3 hours trip. The guide (sorry forgot his name) was wonderful and very helpful. We had completely no experience but that didn't matter. This was an unforgettable experience for us. Our advise: make this trip when in the neigbourhood ! - Patrick
